The Law of Attraction

Wikipedia describes "The Law of Attraction" as a metaphysical, new thought belief, where "Like attracts Like" (Metaphysics, being a branch of philosphy concerned with explaining the fundemental nature of "being" and the "world")

"The Secret" tells us that since everything in the universe is "energy", we are a "magnet" to everything that we want. Take a moment to think about times when this has happened for you.

Many great people have found this to be true:

Andrew Carnegie (the rags to riches philanthropist) is quoted as saying: "I am no longer cursed by poverty because I took possession of my own mind, and that mind has yielded me every material thing I want, and much more than I need. But this power of mind is a universal one, available to the humblest person as it is to the greatest."

Henry Ford also knew all about the power of positive thought, he famously said "Whether you think you can or can't, either way you are right."

 Buddha: "All that we are, is the result of what we have thought."

William James, the famous American psychologist and philosopher, professed: "The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind."

Powerful Positive thinking

By focusing on positive thougts we can be successful and draw positive things into our lives.

e.g. if you make a comment such as: "I need a holiday", it will probably mean that you will go on "needing" a holiday. You have confirmed that you "need" something so you are likely to go on "needing"! (The Law of Attraction shows that like attracts like)

Change the thought to "I will book a holiday", and start imagining yourself now, in the sort of place you would like to be. Your positive thoughts and actions will help you to realise your "goal".

Don't allow negative thoughts to distract your plans!

It may be hard at first, to break the habits of a lifetime, but once we recognise them and "let go" of these "limiting thoughts" we are on our way to changing things for the better.

When my children were small and said, "I can't", I always told them to "take off the "t" and they "can". People who believe they "can", lead much happier lives! There are abundant possibilties open to those who think positive thoughts.

Be grateful, have gratitude for all the good things in life that you have, and for those that are coming your way. Above all believe your new thoughts and know that good things will happen.

Meditations are a useful way of focusing and clearing the mind of negative thoughts. Affirmations are also useful tools, especially if you have self-doubt. Visualisations are also powerful ways to picture whatever it is you want in life.

But remember to only focus on good and positive things. Be kind to yourself and others, if negative thoughts come to mind, just let them float out again and replace them with positive ones. Apply the "Law of Attraction" and see what happens!
